We are a group of friends living and working on the Applecross Peninsula who are passionate about keeping active and healthy in the outdoors. On a trip to Norway, a few of the group experienced sauna culture and were blown away by how restorative it was. The hot of the sauna and the biting cold of the fjord eased aching muscles, brought energy to the body, and best of all, was a place where friends were made.

We recognise that northern Scotland is very similar to Scandinavia. We have long, dark winters, wild weather, freezing cold, and a wonderful, breathtaking environment. And perhaps it is time to embrace our northern hemisphere roots and bring sauna culture to Applecross.

We have raised funds through local grants, crowdfunding, and taking on the annual Applecross Duathlon, and together we have developed Applecross Sauna. For community use and visitor enjoyment. This is the start of a very enjoyable project with the aim of drawing people together, to bring balance, joy and friendship.
